Collective Echoes: Group Improvisation with Repurposed Waste
This workshop invites students to explore sound using everyday discarded objects. Together, we will look at waste from a different perspective—not simply as something to throw away, but as material that carries traces of our daily lives and can be reactivated through movement and sound.Students can bring small discarded items from home or work with materials provided during the workshop. Using simple motor sets with batteries, they will experiment with vibration, friction, and contact to discover how different objects can produce sound.
Through hands-on experimentation and attentive listening, the objects begin to create unexpected rhythms and textures. As the sounds build up, the class will create a shared sonic environment together, learning how individual actions can contribute to a collective soundscape.
