In this conversation, artist Hisae Ikenaga, currently presenting PHANTOM LIMBS at the Konschthal, independent art critic Marianne Derrien and exhibition curator Charlotte Masse will discuss the evolution of her practice as an artist, examining the different subjects she has tackled and focusing on the areas of research into materials and forms that she has undertaken over the last fifteen years.

Biography

Marianne Derrien is an independent curator, art critic and teacher. After being in charge of exhibitions at the Académie de France in Rome - Villa Médicis, she now works as a curator with institutions and independent venues in France (Mrac Sérignan, La Halle des bouchers, Cité internationale des arts, Musée Picasso, La Générale en Manufacture, Le Wonder, etc.) and abroad (Mudam in Luxembourg, Unosunove in Rome, Wooyang Museum in South Korea, Plataforma Revolver in Lisbon, The Pill in Istanbul, etc.). She teaches art theory and curatorial practices at the Sorbonne School of Art and at the Paris 8 University. She regularly publishes critical texts on both emerging and established artists. After coordinating the YCI (Young Curators Invitational) programme, she is now the general coordinator of the European CURATORIAL FUTURES programme for C-E-A, the French curators' association.

Lives and works in Paris.
