Studio pari–pari invites participants to explore the shapes and forms of Esch-sur-Alzette using modelling-clay stamps. Together with the artist duo, participants will set out with ink pads and modelling clay to capture urban details from Esch on paper and arrange them into free compositions. The resulting impressions will be explored as fragmentary messages from the present and the past, carried into the future.

The workshop will be accompanied by the existing Offenbach STADTSTEMPEL Archive, featuring STADTSTEMPEL motifs collected in Esch-sur-Alzette’s partner city in Germany.

Together, we will now set out to create a STADTSTEMPEL Archive of Esch-sur-Alzette. During a walk through different parts of the city, we will search for shapes, structures and traces that tell stories of its past and present. In the city centre, we will look for ruins, remnants and small details that might otherwise go unnoticed. In collaboration with the FerroForum, we will also explore traces of Esch’s industrial history and incorporate them into the emerging archive.

Little by little, a collection of impressions will take shape, connecting different periods and stories of Esch-sur-Alzette.

A large part of the workshop will take place outdoors. Please wear clothing and suitable footwear appropriate for the weather conditions.

The exact meeting point for the start of the walk will be communicated to registered participants by e-mail before the workshop.
