2026 marks twenty years of collaboration for the duo David Brognon and Stéphanie Rollin, better known as Brognon Rollin.

Born in 1978 in Belgium and in 1980 in Luxembourg respectively, the artists draw as much from history as from literature to inform their conceptual, interdisciplinary practice.

One example is their 2020 exhibition at MAC VAL, titled after the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, L’avant-dernière version de la réalité, which questions our relationship to reality—its existence and its representations. On this occasion, they presented the first jukebox in the 24H Silence series, compiling minutes of silence.

This first work contains 80 vinyl records (45 rpm). Each side features a minute of silence observed somewhere in the world following a tragedy: terrorist attack, death of a public figure, natural disaster, mass shooting… People gather in silence—in parks, stadiums, streets, public squares, or parliamentary chambers—often thousands of kilometers away from the event itself.

A second jukebox was presented at BPS22 in 2021. For the exhibition état bruit, Konschthal produced a third jukebox featuring updated minutes of silence: the war in Ukraine, the death of Queen Elizabeth II, deaths in Gaza, repression in Iran, the death of Alexei Navalny…

A limited-edition embroidered patch was produced by the institution for the exhibition état bruit at Konschthal Esch in 2026.

This patch serves as a means of repair. It is also a way of expressing belonging to a group of people who gather around a minute of silence.
