Corinne Clarysse invites lovers of bookbinding, paper, and books to join her for a moment of exchange about the binding techniques she uses. She will bring along notebooks she has created herself, as well as artist books she has collected. Participants will have the opportunity to discover various binding techniques, such as Japanese binding, sewn binding, double folio, accordion, and more.
Mini practical folding exercises will make the session more interactive and participatory, while still offering a space for friendly exchange, without being a traditional workshop.
Corinne Clarysse (1981 – lives and works in Charleroi, Brussels, and Liège) is an artist who has been exploring books and archives for over twenty years. Her bookbinding practice is both artistic and technical, ranging from creating unique notebooks within the Broleskine collective to designing contemporary bindings for artists, photographers, and graphic designers. In parallel, she teaches this discipline at various art schools.
With a passion for self-publishing and micro-edition, Corinne Clarysse co-organized the Papier Carbone festival and is involved in editing at Actes Nord. She is also interested in the restoration of archives and manuscripts.
