Join us for eclectic Takeover Thursdays at the Konschthal for each exhibition. These events are an opportunity to rediscover the exhibitions through the eyes of our invited guests. Each evening is unique - conceived by participants from various fields, they are structured around changing themes linked to the exhibitions.

With concerts, readings, encounters, performances, workshops and much more, the Konschthal gets a makeover.

In response to Ben Greber's exhibition Green Machine - Die Dinge der Anderen, IK-CNCI (Industriekultur-CNCI (Centre national de la culture industrielle) is proposing to question artistic practice as a tool for reconstructing the memory of industrial culture.

Through meetings and workshops, artists from different disciplines will be on hand to share their views on heritage and industrial culture with every audience of all ages.

In collaboration with IK-CNCI.

18h00 – 22h00: Workshops

L'Inventaire gourmand, installation and food design workshop by Hopla Studio

The Inventaire gourmand by Hopla Studio is an opportunity to take a bite of the factory. Here, it won't be about iron but rather chocolate! Artist Magali Wehrung introduces us to the richness of shapes in a series of objects she selected at the Ressourcerie. The most curious ones can create their own mold from this inventory and leave with a kit to make their own chocolate.

Screen-printing workshop by Dkollektiv

Because each document represents industrial memory, Dkollektiv offers an introduction to screen printing through the printing on fabric of old plans of steel machines.

More information about Dkollektiv here.

19h30-21h00: Panel discussion (FR/EN)

Reactivating the memory of the place

To defend a way of life, a space, a role, and then transmit.

The discussion, in form of a panel talk, will establish a connection between the history of a territory and the artist, between the legacy left and the influence on the work of artists, how these traces of the past construct our identity, and works related to changing landscapes, transformed, sometimes abandoned.

The participants :

  • Serge Ecker, artist (Luxembourg)
  • François Caillat, filmmaker (France) - CANCELLED
  • Théo Georget, researcher and writer (France)
  • Pierre Toussenot, doctor degree in contemporary history and researcher (France)
  • Frank Kraemer, Exhibition manager (Völklinger-Hütte, Germany)
  • Misch Feinen, president of the Ferroforum (Luxembourg)
  • Samuel Reinard, Ryvage, electronic musician (Luxembourg)

Etc.

18h00 – 23h00: Mini Buttek

Mini Buttek is a selection of books and objects linked to our industrial heritage. You'll be able to discover the bleus de travail revisited by the atelier Huddelafatz, the series of keys Puzzled by Birgit Thalau, books on the history of the working class published by Les Presses du Faubourg and presented by the associative bookshop Quartier Libre, and many other publications by IK-CNCI partners.

22h-23h: Ryvage, live performance set

The electronic musician Ryvage will present a live performance blending ambient techno and industrial electronica, featuring excerpts, remixes, and adaptations from his sonic creation "Nightsongs" (Independent Little Lies) and his recent and upcoming releases titled "Les Nuits I & II." By incorporating and transforming field recordings from active and dormant steel sites in southern Luxembourg into his tracks, Ryvage invites the listener to (re)discover the various sonic facets of the (post-)industrial night... Dreamy and danceable moments.

From 6pm until 9:30pm FerroForum will offer Mettwurschte (veggy and non veggy) vun der Schmelz Ferroforum, a cCulinary-industrial installation and performance against the backdrop of stories from former Esch steelworkers Heng & Heng.

The bar will be open throughout the evening.
