Over the past dozen years, Letizia Romanini has developed an artistic approach that is deeply anchored in observation of the everyday, common objects, and ordinary landscapes. Her practice is often characterised by a particular attention paid to fragility, the ephemeral, and to the notion of the passage of time. In her everyday rituals, she pursues a kind of attentive harvesting, collecting whatever catches, intertwines, tangles. Acacia branches occupy a unique place among the plant forms that she gathers. These spiny boughs, at once barriers and defences, often grow in habitats abused by humans (wastelands, vacant lots, roadside areas).

For this edition, each acacia branch is cast in bronze, fixed in its original form. The transition from plant to metal conveys a poetic tension between fragility and solidity, between the transitory and the eternal. This metamorphosis incarnates an image of limits—those artificial limits traced by human beings, and those natural limits delineated by the landscape. What was light and fragile henceforth becomes robust and durable.

These unique editions were produced by the institution for the Project Room Regno Amicale by the artist Letizia Romanini at the Konschthal Esch, 2025.
